| dc.description.abstract | SATEC Developpement International is a leading, independent and private French consultancy
operating mainly in the field of agriculture, livestock, animal health, fishery, agro-industry,
environment, rural development, and institutional strengthening on both economic and social
levels.
Traditionally oriented towards rural development in French-speaking countries, SATEC has
considerably broadened its scope of activities in the past few years to encompass other
geographic areas including English-speaking Africa, Asia, Central and Eastern Europe, and
Latin America.
We offer a wide range of services, including:
• Short and long term technical assistance, with operational experts working within national
or international institutions, professional organisations, agro-industrial complexes,
frequently in association with local partners to ensure an efficient transfer of skills.
• Logistical support in terms of material and equipment selection, maintenance and supply to
the site.
• Technical/economic consultancy services: from identification and evaluation of new
projects, pre-feasibility or feasibility studies, up to master plans, etc.
SATEC has a permanent staff of 10 qualified members in head office, twenty experts with
international experience working direct for SATEC on long-term missions, with another fifty
working on short-term missions. Committed to sustainable agricultural development, a top
priority for many countries, our teams of experts are employed in a variety of fields ranging
from agricultural and rural development to extension services, agro-food, livestock, animal
health care, farm management, credit, marketing, public sector infrastructure, privatisation
