Abstract
The Guidelines for Feed and Fodder Data Management have been developed to address the critical data and digital capacity challenges affecting the feed and fodder sector across Africa. The sector faces data fragmentation, lack of standardized reporting mechanisms, and limited digital infrastructure, making it difficult for stakeholders to make informed decisions. These challenges are further exacerbated by external shocks such as climate change, conflicts, and pandemics, which disrupt feed and fodder supply chains and increase the vulnerability of livestock systems. The guidelines provide a structured framework for data collection, management, and sharing to enhance data availability, accessibility, and reliability, ultimately strengthening the resilience of the feed and fodder systems
