This report presents the results of a gap analysis conducted by the Kenyan delegation ahead of a benchmarking visit to Namibia’s livestock sector, facilitated under the African Pastoral Markets Development (APMD) Platform by the AU-IBAR.The analysis identifies critical gaps in Kenya’s livestock development ecosystem and highlights areas where Namibia offers relevant lessons and best practices within the value chain. Key outcomes indicate that while Kenya has made substantial policy strides, operational challenges persist in value addition, traceability, logistics, climate resilience, and gender inclusion. The findings underscore the value of the visit in shaping Kenya’s livestock transformation agenda and accelerating AfCFTA-aligned reforms of reducing tariff barriers and eradicating non-tariff trade barriers.en
