Abstract

Key messages brought out in this policy brief include the need to strengthening the participation of stakeholders in planning and implementing crossbreeding programs to reduce the loss of indigenous breeding stock; and the need for stakeholder involvement in planning and management is expected to lead to more realistic and effective policies and plans, as well as improve their implementation.This policy brief was made possible through financial support provided by the European Union (EU) funded Project “Strengthening the Capacity of African Countries to Conservation and Sustainable Utilisation of African Animal Genetic Resources.”
