Abstract
The Strategic partners initiative to establish a sustainable fisheries investment fund for
the large marine ecosystems (LME) of
sub-Saharan Africa (SSA) was conceived
by Global Environment Facility (GEF)
as a means of dealing with issues that
impede sound fisheries management and
the contribution of fisheries resources
towards poverty reduction in SSA.
