Abstract
This publication serves as a resource for member countries. The guide is intended to be used to tailor their skills to their individual needs, and in accordance to the OIE's Recommendations on the Competencies of Graduating Veterinarians ('Day 1 graduates') to Ensure National Veterinary Service Quality. The specific competencies are those required for a day one graduate to work in the National Veterinary Service (as opposed to clinical practice). This guide highlights the twenty specific and twelve advanced veterinary competencies required for practice in Africa.
