This strategy and investment plan is the result of a consultative co-generation process, in which a multi-sectoral team participated. AU-IBAR and USAID's Kenya Crops and Dairy Market Systems (KCDMS-RTI) program aided the process by facilitating the appointment of a National Consultant and a Ministry-appointed Technical Working Group (TWG) comprised of officers from the Ministry's various Directorates, as well as experts and practitioners from public institutions, the private sector, and non-state actor organizations. The Strategy outlines actions that will address issues affecting Kenya's dairy value chain productivity, efficiency, and competitiveness. The strategy, in principle, aligns with Vision 2030 aspirations by defining a middle-income growth path for dairy industry actors.en
